Representation of Race
In most media to date, Most issues comes to the fact regarding our Race type in Earth and sometimes these media gives out messages regarding these and might give true or false information about it and to be honest, some medias had its representation today. Let us look at it's current situation.
Games and movies has been involved with this type of representation lately and with different types scenarios around it as most representation of it are mostly stereotype the races that are non-white.
Games has represented many types of Race in there stories or its "missions" or "open worlds" such as The Grand Theft Auto series and mostly revolves around it. not also that one game is the most looked one but many games are usually known to have whites as the main character in the poster or it advertisement. As you see the latest Grand Theft Auto game was known as Grand Theft Auto V(5) as it has shown some parody message but sometimes true to the players playing it. From many researchers, Gangsters are usually revolving with mostly not the 'whites' but more like the Mexican whites, Asians, etc and even in movies has shown some of its representation of it. From their attitude, their outfits and the way they talk has shown it to the media itself. As the world today, Video Games are inspired by Movies or the other way around and we would like to say that the representation of the race is very common in many different ways, Asians being bossy, noisy and small-eyed, Mexicans being fast talkers but this is not always the case, even if these are true, some are completely false.
We should be open minded regarding these information and still would like to connect with other people in the world. Sure that they are still information that are true regarding their representation of being different but even if we are different, we are still human being. Even with some of the bad representation, some are positive just like Grand Theft Auto 5 where as the black protagonists finds a way to make things right and since the ending has a route that leads to everything being resolved, it is likely a positive representation and even with the bad ethnicity representation, the character was able to develop very significantly and had a brotherhood type of relationship with some of his relationships between the other characters. Also that not all non-whites are the good guys but some are also known as antagonist, for example Far Cry 4
Movies as well has shown quite the number of this representation and one of the examples is the classic hit called "how to kill a mockingbird" as this movie talked about a black men that was suspected to have rape a white women and has been decided to be punished heavily, not just that but also a latest comedy movie called "Keanu" regarding the race of a black gangster and many more as well.
But it is not always true, movies has always have different ways to represent it positive or negatively, one example that is positive is the "The Great Wall" movie which explains the race of the Asians but the real problem was that the representation of it was taken to the setting of centuries ago so it is not accurate but still there are some representation of it
In conclusion, this type of representation is not always negative or positive due to the fact that this is just a use in entertainment and so on so this leads that keep in mind that non-white races are not always a negatively shown as there are always others that are positively represented in the media.
